President Al-Assad: Syria Is for All Its People Regardless of Their Religion or Ethnicity

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that Syria will continue to be for all its people  regardless of their religion or ethnicity, hailing the national role played by the Armenian Syrians in the face of the division schemes which the barbaric terrorist war waged on the country has sought to implement . 

President Al-Assad, who made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with Catholicos Aram I Keshishian, head of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church, said that the barbarism of the terrorist war on Syria is reminiscent of the massacres committed by the Ottomans against the Armenian people.

 On his part, Catholicos Aram I reiterated that Syria was the safe haven for  those who survived the Ottoman massacres and that the Syrian people with all its components have given a wonderful example for confronting takfiri thinking and the terrorist exclusionist schemes through their adherence to national belongingness and to the message of amity, peace and moderation Syria has carried throughout history.

He affirmed that the steadfastness of the Syrians, the sacrifices of the Syrian army and wise and brave leadership of Syria will undoubtedly result in achieving victory and eliminating terrorism.
