Czech PM: Project to Build a Center for Orphans in Syria Ready for Implementation
PRAGUE, (ST)- Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babis has announced that the project of building a center for orphans in Syria has become ready for implementation in cooperation with the Syrian government.
In a statement he made on Wednesday during a ceremony held at the Czech Red Cross Headquarters in Prague marking the organization’s 100th foundation anniversary, Babis said “the Czech Republic got the land on which the center will be built. It is near Damascus and now we are waiting for the logistic and technical data of the new building.”
He pointed out that the project will be implemented in cooperation between the Czech Red Cross and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
The Czech premier went on to say that “the facility will at first have a capacity of 50 children and it will gradually be expanded”.
He made it clear that last year, the Czech Red Cross followed up the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria. The eighth batch of this aid arrived recently and it included health equipments and materials the value of which exceeded 5 million Czech koruna (195.000 euro).
