Central Celebration In Aleppo Marking Workers Day

ALEPPO, (ST)- Marking Workers Day, the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) on Wednesday held a central celebration at the General Company for Cable Industry in Aleppo  

Assistant Secretary General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal affirmed worker’s main role in building the homeland and making victories, because they, together with farmers and all categories of the Syrian society, form the basis for all-out development.

“Celebrating Workers Day in Aleppo has a special meaning as this steadfast province has played essential role in the battle against terrorism and will play important role in rebuilding better Syria.”, he said.

 Addressing workers, Hilal said “your work completes the work of our hero army in the battle against terrorism..In every war there are two armies: the first is the one that confronts terrorism by weapon while the second is the one that works and builds the bases of economic and social development.”

On his part, Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions Jamal al-Qaderi hailed the sacrifices of the workers who were martyred while working and defending their facilities and their homeland.

 He reviewed the destruction caused to factories and industrial facilities by terrorism, noting the workers’ support for the Syrian Arab army in the fight against terrorism.

Al-Qaderi affirmed that Syria is going ahead with the process of reconstruction and economic development, stressing the government’s keenness to eliminate all the obstacles that face production process.
