DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation at international forums and organizations in defense national causes and in the confrontation of attempts by the United States and its allies to undermine the principles of International Law and UN Charter and to impose their agendas on sovereign states’ independent decisions.
The two countries’ stance was expressed during a meeting on Tuesday between Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem and Deputy Foreign Minister of the DPRK Pak Myong Guk and the accompanying delegation.
Al-Moallem thanked Democratic Korea for supporting Syria in the face of the terrorist war and at international forums. He also stressed the Syrian Arab Republic’s support for Democratic Korea and the Korean people in the face of Washington’s hegemony and attempts to impose its policies on them and in confrontation of the economic siege imposed by the US on DPRK’s people.
On his part, the DPRK deputy foreign minister affirmed that his country will continue supporting Syria in its war on terrorism and in confrontation of the brutal western economic sanctions.
He also stressed the importance of coordination between the two countries at international gatherings.
