DEIR EZZOR, (ST)- The US-backed SDF militias (Syria Democratic Forces) on Saturday shot with live ammunition civilians who were protesting against them and demanding their immediate expulsion from Deir Ezzor.
The protests continued for a third day and expanded to cover new areas in Deir Ezzor north eastern countryside.
Local sources told SANA correspondent that over the past hours, protests expanded from Deir Ezzor northwestern countryside to the villages and towns of al-Sheheel, al-Sour and Mweileh in Deir Ezzor northeastern countryside.
Hundreds of locals took to the streets of these villages and towns protesting against SDF militias and rising placards calling for their expulsion from the area and condemning their daily attacks on civilians and acts of stealing oil and citizens’ properties, according to the sources.
The sources pointed out that US-backed SDF militias attacked protesters in al-Hisan village by randomly firing live bullets, causing the injury of a number of civilians.
The sources said that protesters blocked the roads by burning tires amid closure of stores.
On Friday, protests against the US-backed SDF militias continued with the people of al-Basira town in Deir Ezzor demonstrated to demand the expulsion of those militias from the area.
Local sources said that protests took place in the town of al-Basira demanding the SDF militias to leave their towns and all the areas where they have positions. Protestors condemned SDF practices, which caused insecurity and increased incidents of abductions and murder. They also lashed out at SDF’s acts of monopolizing petroleum in cooperation with companies dealing with them.
