Dialogue Only Way to Solve Crisis in Syria- Lahhoud

BEIRUT,(ST)_ Former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud stressed  the need to start a dialogue between the Syrians as the only way to resolve the crisis in Syria.

In a televised interview on Thursday evening, Lahoud called on “the Lebanese government” to permit the Lebanese army carry out its role in preventing the flow of arms and militants across the Lebanese border into Syria.

Lahoud noted three points of strengths in Syria: the people , the army and the leader ” and  expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the battles fought by the Syrian Arab army against armed terrorist groups.

He denounced the decisions taken by the Arab League AL regarding the situation in Syria, adding that the AL needs a leader like President Bashar al-Assad.

Lahoud pointed out that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is delusional to that he believes he has a role in the Middle East and that his ambition is to join  the European market by supporting the armed terrorist groups in Syria , providing  them with weapons and military equipment and opening  training camps.
