Aoun to US Congress Delegation: Lebanon Rejects Trump’s Declaration on Occupied Syrian Golan

BEIRUT, ((ST)-President Michel  Aoun of Lebanon has reaffirmed his country’s rejection of the US President Donald Trump’s Declaration that recognized “Israel’s sovereignty” over the occupied Syrian Golan.

He made the remarks during his meeting on Friday in Beirut with a delegation from the US Congress.

Aoun reiterated that the Lebanese lands in Sheb’a Farms, Kfar Shouba Hills and al-Ghajar are occupied Lebanese territories that must be liberated and restored to  Lebanon’s sovereignty.

On Thursday, Aoun, during his meeting with his Greek counterpart Prokopis Pavlopoulos in Beirut, stressed that Trump’s Golan declaration contradicts international legitimacy resolutions and the UN Charter.
