Larijani: Enemies plan to create more troubles in Syria

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with visiting Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov said regional and trans-regional enemies are planning to create more troubles in Syria.

Larijani stressed that the status quo requires continued cooperation and extensive consultations between Tehran and Moscow.

Referring to Iran-Russia age-old friendly relations, he called for continuation of mutual cooperation and consultations between the two countries.

He said Iran and Russia, both, have common interests and concerns, calling for expansion of mutual cooperation in the campaign against drug trafficking at the regional and international levels.

Larijani also emphasized the need for fostering trade ties as well as military and industrial cooperation with Moscow, adding Iranian parliament supports expansion of long-lasting relations with Russia in the area of economy, trade and industry.

Umakhanov, for his part, described Iran as a vital country in the region, adding a bright future awaits mutual relations given Iran-Russia deep-rooted friendship.

He said Russia and Iran share close stance on regional and global developments, voicing Russia’s unchangeable support for the Iranian nation’s rights.
