People of Occupied Syrian Golan Stress Adherence to Syrian Arab Identity, Say Golan is an Integral Part of Syria

QUNEITRA, (ST)- People of the occupied Syrian Golan have condemned US President Donald Trump’s Recognition of Israel’s “sovereignty” over the Syrian Golan, stressing that this declaration is null and void and it has no legal effect.

During a rally held in the occupied Baq’ata village, the people of Golan affirmed that Trump’s Declaration violates UN Charter and international resolutions on Golan, mainly No. 497 which considers Golan as an occupied Syrian land and stresses that all the Israeli occupation’s procedures regarding this Syrian land are null and void.

The Golan people reiterated that Golan is an integral part of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Participants from the occupied towns of Majdal Shams, Baq’ata, Mas’ada and Ein Qinyeh renewed their adherence to the Syrian Arab identity and affirmed their continuous steadfastness against the Israeli occupation’s attempts to displace them and confiscate their lands.

Trump’s declaration is illegal and has no effect on ground because it is issued by a party which doesn’t have the right to confiscate others’ lands by force, Sheikh Jad Abdul Karim, one of the protestors, said, stressing that the Golan people are more determined to foil all the schemes which the US administration and the Israeli occupation authorities are trying to implement in Golan.

Sheikh Atef Darweesh, another protestor, said the people of Golan will not cede an inch of the occupied Golan land, because it is the land of their predecessors and no one in the world can steal this historical right from them.
