Source of inspiration for terrorists

Since the outset of his term as US President, Donald Trump has been a source of inspiration for terrorists and extremists because of his wrong policies, especially towards the Arabs and Muslims. Such policies have focused on supporting takfiri terror organizations in Syria, Iraq and other areas with the aim of destabilizing these states, achieving colonialist objectives and serving the Zionist agenda in the Arab and Islamic world.

About 49 people were killed and tens of others were injured due to a horrible massacre that targeted two mosques in Christchurch  in New Zealand.

The criminal who committed the carnage, an  Australian gunman, Brenton Tarrant, made a speech broadcast on the Facebook  in which he described immigrants as invaders.  In his statement, Tarrant said he saw Trump as symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose.  The deadly attacks, which were carried out by  an alleged white supremacist – reportedly an admirer of US President Donald Trump – represents the cruel and ruthless trend that began to appear in the past few years because of Trump’s policy and racist statements against Muslims and immigrants.

This massacre is condemned in the strongest of terms, because it is a cowardly terrorist attack that targeted two mosques in New Zealand, claiming the lives of many and injuring others. This crime shows the urgent need for uniting all efforts to eliminate terrorism and fight extremism and the hate that targets Islam and Muslims in the West.

Trump tried to deny his responsibility for encouraging Islamophobia  and extremism saying he doesn’t view white extremism as a growing threat even though many intellectuals and politicians blame this terrorist carnage on Trump’s demonization of Muslims.

White politicians like Trump and the typical Western media are responsible for last Friday massacre . Trump has  encouraged  Islamophobia. In many white supremacists’ attacks on the American-Muslim community, the attackers cite Trump and his policies. The US president’s immigration policies have encouraged far-right groups and white racist ideology in the West. Muslim and civil rights activists have long accused Trump of promoting intolerance. He called for a total and complete shutdown  of Muslims entering the US during his election campaign.

Western government has also turned a blind eye to domestic far-right terrorism. Not only was Trump’s rhetoric responsible for attacks in the US, he was also responsible for attacks in other countries.

Crimes against Muslim communities and people of color are on the rise in Britain, across western Europe, United States, Canada, Australia, and  New Zealand.

The Friday massacre of Muslim people once again highlighted the need for an all-out international fight against Islamophobia fueled by the US and its allies. The massacre was a barbaric and agonizing incident which broke the hearts of all Muslim people in the world . This ferocious crime, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of innocent and defenseless worshippers, is another proof of the need for an all-out fight against terrorism and hate-mongering toward other religions and ethnic groups, and the Islamophobia which is common in the West, and unfortunately fueled by certain Western governments, especially US President Donald Trump and his extremist ilk.

This savage crime indicates that terrorism is still among the important issues of the world, and needs an integrated fight and a united approach by all countries against violence and extremism in any part of the world.

The international community, mainly Muslim states, should show serious reaction to these anti-human crimes, and scandal the explicit and clandestine sponsors of such moves.

The New Zealand attack was the result of Trump’s Islamophobic remarks, and  the Western hypocrisy of defending demonization of Muslims as freedom of expression .

Despite being known as the source of inspiration for the white supremacist behind the terror attack, Trump has so far refused to denounce the carnage.

One person cannot be blamed for the carnage, but it shows  a rise in anti-Muslim sentiment since Trump was elected. What happened during Friday prayers, as 49 innocents were slaughtered by a thug, went out on a live stream and the killer was apparently cheered on by his virtual reality audience who appeared to watch the pornographic violence with some delight.

Any terrorist attack must be condemned by all states no matter where in the world, by whom, and with what motivation and pretext it is carried out. All world  governments should  prevent racist and Islamophobic movements and ideologies from threatening the security and tranquility of the citizens of states across the world.

The Trump administration, for instance, made Muslims the enemy from the moment Donald Trump became US President while Islamophobia is reinforced by the resurgence of the far right and rise of fascism across Europe and beyond.

Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric and that of other white politicians and media influencers have become almost normal as has a hatred of refugees caused by horrific wars across the Middle East and Asia. The first step to halt the growing violence against Muslims starts with Trump and his allies preventing from making racist statements.
