US Still Betting on Supporting Terrorism to Achieve Its Agendas in Syria and Entire Region

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The continuous support provided by the US Administration to terrorist organizations in Syria will not prevent the Syrian state from relentlessly pressing ahead with fighting terrorism and foreign occupation until the last inch of the Syrian territories is liberated, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Monday.

“The United States continues its support for terrorism in Syria in flagrant and incessant violation of UN Charter, rules of the International Law and all international resolutions related to Syria,” the spokesman told SANA referring to the recent US decision to provide more funding to the so-called “White Helmets” group.

“The US State Department has recently announced that Washington will give $5 million to the so-called “White Helmets” which is the tool of Jabhat al-Nusra and Daesh terrorist organizations’ special missions and which has played a vicious role in fabricating videos and scenarios on alleged chemical attacks in Syria,” the spokesman said.

“This US desperate step, which came following a similar one by Qatar, affirms that the United States is still betting on supporting terrorism to achieve its own agendas in Syria and the region and to serve the Israeli occupation’s interests,” the Spokesman added, stressing that these attempts won’t prevent Syria from relentlessly continue its fight against terrorism and foreign occupation until the complete liberation of the Syrian territory, the restoration of security and stability to the homeland and the return of the displaced Syrians home.

The spokesman expressed the Syrian Arab Republic’s strong condemnation of the US administration’s support for terrorist groups, including the “White Helmets”, urging Washington to respect the Security Council Resolutions relating to fighting terrorism, to halt the funding and arming of Jabhat al-Nusra and its affiliated terrorist groups and to immediately stop investing in terrorism.
