In the past, the original Syrian Arab horses have attracted foreign tourists from all over the world to come back and attract different personalities who have traveled long distances in search of the original Syrian horse whose history is deeply rooted in history.
The rare authentic horses, existed in Syria for many years and continued despite the difficult circumstances experienced by Syria during the years of the war, led us to come to this country to learn about the amazing way the Syrians worked to preserve their horses, according to British journalist Vanessa Vili, who is currently visiting Syria.
In a statement to the representative of Sana Sports, said Vili: We visited Arab horse farms, but the surprise was by the presence of the most beautiful horses Syria. It is certain, Mrs. Vili added, that
the Syrian horse very strong and famous, in all countries of the world, for beauty and authenticity, dating back many years documented by historians impressed by the distinctive methods worked by the Office of Arab horses In the Ministry of Agriculture to maintain the documentation of these breeds, especially rare ones through the cadres specialized in this field.
For his part, Chargé d’Affaires of the South African Embassy in Syria, Solomuzi Mahlana, noted the good impressions they received during their visit to the Syrian Arab horse breeding farms and expressed his happiness to see the Syrian horse in its original environment. He also expressed his country’s willingness to participate in the activities to be organized for Arab horses during the days. Mr. Mahlana also expressed his intention to visit other farms dealing with the Arab horse in Damascus and its countryside to see more distinct breeds.
Mr. Bassel Al-Jad’an, member of the Executive Committee of the World Arab Horse Organization (WAHO), said: “The authentic Arab horse is a great attraction for tourists to visit Syria because of its unique qualities in the world because it has preserved the purity of its breeds and did not mix with the other breeds where it enjoys strength, beauty and intelligence.”The surprise did not leave foreign visitors to Syrian horse farms because the difficult circumstances did not affect much of their reality in terms of production, education and registration,” Mr. Al-Jad’an said.
He pointed out that the arrival of foreign visitors interested in horses to Syria will enable them to portray the reality as it is to be transferred to their country from Syria, the land of love and peace, noting that this visit will be followed by other visits, especially with the launch of the first edition of the International al- Cham Festival for Arab Horse in Syria next month.
Director of the Office of Arab Horses at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Eng. Ghayath Al Shayeb said: ” We briefed Foreign visitors on the steps taken by the Ministry to preserve this national treasure during the past years and the activities we organized for the horse including local races and championships to keep the process of equestrian constant in Syria and the adopted mechanisms to the Syrian horse registration in the Arab Horse organization, where 9000 horses were adopted besides genealogy book that have been released to keep the horse from getting lost.”
