Iran Playing Irrefutable Role in Promoting Multilateralism

President of the Senate of Mexico said Iran has an undeniable role in preserving and developing multilateralism, adding that promotion of bilateral ties between the two nations will benefit Iranian and Mexican people.

Martí Batres Guadarrama in a recent meeting with Iran Ambassador to Mexico Mohammad Taqi Hosseini, described as important broadening relations between the two countries both from geopolitical and civilizational aspects.

Guadarrama added that Iran is an important country enjoying pivotal role in creating balance in the world.

Mexico is against concentration of power in one pole resulting in unilateralism, he said.

Expressing satisfaction over Iran-Mexico developing relations, especially in parliamentary fields, Guadarrama said the Senate of Mexico supports broadening ties with Iran.

 

Meanwhile, Hosseini stressed the importance of reinforcing parliamentary relations, saying exchanging parliamentary delegations can help strengthen relations.

Referring to the 115th anniversary of relations between Iran and Mexico held in the Senate of Mexico in 2017, Iranian envoy hailed both countries’ cooperation in international organizations.

He also stressed Iran’s attempts to adopt Mexico as chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Earlier, Head of Iran-Mexico parliamentary friendship group Mohammad Reza Mansouri in a meeting with Mexico‘s Ambassador to Tehran Alfonso Zegbe highlighted the importance of holding parliamentary consultations to find appropriate mechanisms to confront international and regional crises. Meanwhile, earlier Zegbe expressed his country’s government and parliament interests to strengthen ties with Iran.
