DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria and China on Wednesday signed a memo on handing over of a grant offered by the Chinese government to the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The memo was signed by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Soussan and the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Feng Biao.
The grants includes computers, printers, scanners and photocopiers.
Soussan stressed that the grant embodies China’s constructive stance in support for Syria during the eight-year terrorist war on the country, noting the deep-rooted relations of friendship and cooperation between Syria and China.
He added that the grant is part of the Chinese government’s contribution to helping Syria surpass the impacts of the illegal unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by terrorism sponsors on Syria.
On his part, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed his country’s firm stance on Syria, pointing out that China has provided humanitarian assistance estimated at about 800 million Yuan since the beginning of the crisis in Syria in support for the steadfastness of the Syrian people.
He vowed, as a representative of his country in Syria, to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
