Syrian Army Fully Prepared to Retaliate against Terrorist Groups’ Violations of De-escalation Agreements: Foreign Ministry

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has strongly condemned the terrorist groups’ repeated violations of the de-escalation agreements, stressing the Syrian army’s full preparedness to retaliate against the terrorists’ crimes, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Sunday.

The source told SANA that in a new breach of the de-escalation agreement, the terrorist groups attacked Syrian army personnel deployed along al-Masasneh axis in Hama northern countryside. The terrorist groups launched the attacks from their positions in the de-escalation zones, using different kinds of weapons and exploiting the bad weather conditions, the source clarified.

The attack caused the martyrdom of a number of soldiers and the wounding of several others, added the source, pointing out that the Syrian army forces managed to repel the attack, kill many terrorists and inflict heavy losses in their ammunitions.

The source went on to say that the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the terrorist groups repeated criminal behavior and continuous violations of the de-escalation agreements and it stresses that the Syrian Arab army is fully prepared to retaliate against these crimes and breaches.

Syria also affirms that it won’t stand still as regards the terrorists’ crimes and won’t allow the terrorists and their supporters to go further in their attacks against innocent civilians and army personnel, the source said, reiterating Syria’s right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
