Al-Moallem, Zarif Discuss Enhancing Syria-Iran Strategic Relations

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem on Wednesday received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart Mohammed Javad Zarif.

The phone conversation dealt with ways to enhance the strategic relations between Syria and Iran and with the results of President Bashar Al-Assad’s yesterday’s historical visit to Iran.

Zarif was back on duty as foreign minister after President Rouhani rejected the resignation he had unexpectedly announced in an Instagram post late on Monday.
