US, Its Allies Using Fight against Terrorism as Pretext to Wage Wars against Countries to Steal Their Resources

MOSCOW, (ST)- The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthina Shaaban has stressed that Syria will press ahead with its war on terrorism and will liberate every inch of its land from both terrorism and occupation. She has also affirmed that the countries which claim that they are fighting terrorism, with the United States at the top of the list, are instead supporting terrorism in order to prolong the crisis in the country.

Speaking in the International Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow, Shaaban said the United States and its allies are using fight against terrorism as a pretext to wage wars against countries to seal their resources, whereas Russia and China use veto in favor of Syria starting from their commitment to the principles and Charter of the United Nations which provide for non-interference in countries’ internal affairs.

Shaaban went on to say that Russia has adopted important steps to support Syria in its war on terrorism and it has repeatedly called on The United States to cooperate in this regard, but Washington and its allies refused to cooperate, rather, they supported terrorism, launched a disinformation campaign and tightened the unilateral coercive economic measures against Syria.

She added, according to the Syrian News Agency SANA, that the US occupation troops positioned in al-Tanf area are hindering liberating this area from terrorism. She pointed out that the international terrorism hitting everywhere is systematic and financed by certain countries.

Constitution

The presidential advisor reiterated that the constitution and all related items are a purely sovereign issue that is decided by the Syrian people themselves without any foreign interference, but some parties and countries are trying to exploit the constitution issue to impose their will on the Syrian people.

She made it clear that western countries are now interfering in Venezuela’s affairs under the pretext of maintaining democracy and human rights, “but, from our experience in Syria, we know that these are nothing but claims that have absolutely nothing to do with democracy or human rights. They want puppet regimes that don’t represent their peoples and don’t protect their countries’ resources.”

Shaaban also said that the world is witnessing the birth of a new multi-polar world order based on respecting countries sovereignty and actual counterterrorism.

“We hope that this new world order will work to achieve more equality, justice and freedom and that Russia and China and all the countries which believe in human rights and sovereignty right will play a notable role in correcting mistakes,” Shaaban added.

In a statement to Russia Today Channel, Shaaban said that Washington’s attempts to create a mini-state in the east Euphrates area will fail because the Syrian people stand strongly against dividing their country or occupying parts of it.

Reconstruction

On the reconstruction process, Shaaban said that Syria welcomes the participation of the allied and friendly states, which supported the country in its war on terrorism, in the process of reconstruction. However, the countries which supported and funded terrorism in Syria are absolutely not allowed to take part in reconstruction, she added.

According to Sputnik, Shaaban said that the United States is supporting terrorism in Syria by imposing sanctions on Damascus that are not in line with the UN resolutions and attacking positions of the Syrian government army.

The United States is trying with all its might to destroy Syria and undermine its infrastructure, Assad advisor she added.

“Americans are trying with all their might to destroy our country, to undermine its infrastructure. Of course, it is now absolutely clear that terrorism is not a natural disaster, it is planned terrorism that is supported by certain states,” Shaaban said.

“There are numerous examples of the United States repeatedly opening fire on positions of the Syrian national army. Under such circumstances, Western counties introduce new sanctions against the Syrian Arab Republic which have nothing to do with either UN resolutions or international law. In this sense, the United States supports terrorism in Syria and does not want to engage in dialogue with the Syrian government, while being always ready to host talks with heads of terrorist groups,” Shaaban stressed.

On his part, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stressed the need to eliminate the terrorists in Idleb and all other Syrian areas.

“There are Some areas in the vicinity of Idleb which are still being exposed to terrorist attacks, so there is an urgent need to liberate these areas,” he said, adding “we are ready to cooperate with all regional countries as well as the United States  in order to entirely eliminate terrorists and this will help end terrorism in Syria as a whole.”

Bogdanov reiterated that Daesh has been defeated in most of the areas where it has had positions thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the gains achieved by the Syrian army in cooperation with the Russian aerospace forces.
