Syria Participates in the Fitur International Tourism Exhibition in Spain

SANA- With the participation of Syria and 165 countries, activities of the 39th session of the International Tourism exhibition (Fitur 2019) were launched on Wednesday in Spain, Madrid on an area of 67.5 thousand square meters. The activities took place in the exhibition city of Efima.

The aim of the participation is to introduce Syrian tourism and historical elements and promote cultural richness and tourism diversity. The Syrian delegation includes Minister of Tourism Mohamed Rami Radwan and representatives of the Syrian airlines, tourism and travel offices.

In the presence of the two ministers and tourism ministers of many Arab and foreign countries and representatives of tourism companies, the exhibition was opened by the King of Spain Felipe VI, his wife Queen Leticia, the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili and the Spanish Minister of Tourism and Industry.

The exhibition will witness a large number of events, seminars, workshops and conferences that will contribute to the exchange of views and experiences and promote new tourist destinations, which will last for five days with the participation of more than 10,000 international tourism companies

The Fitur exhibition is one of the most important tourist exhibitions in the world and marks the beginning of the international agenda for tourism exhibitions in the new year. It provides an annual platform to present the most important proposals and presentations and identify strategies to be developed throughout 2019. It also represents an international forum between official tourism sectors in different countries and companies to determine the future direction of the tourism sector.
