Tehran Reaffirms Support for Syria in Reconstruction, Fight against Terrorism

 TEHRAN, (ST)- Iran’s First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri has reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria in the fight against Terrorism and in reconstruction.

During his meeting on Wednesday with Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, Jahangiri hailed Syria’s victories over terrorist organizations, stressing that Iran will keep supporting Syria till complete victory is achieved.

He also affirmed that the Iranian private sector will effectively take part in Syria’s reconstruction era.

He said that the meetings of the Syrian-Iranian joint higher committee, which will be held soon in Damascus, comes as bilateral ties between Syria and Iran have reached a very high level. He expressed confidence that this development will contribute to enhancing the economic and trade cooperation and to increasing trade exchange.

On his part, the Syrian ambassador reiterated Syria’s firm will to boost its strategic ties with Iran and to seek achieing economic integration between the two countries.

He pointed out that Syria’s victory over terrorism is a victory for the two countries and for allies which seek uprooting terrorism from the entire region.
The Ambassador highly appreciated Iran’s support for the Syrian people to eliminate terrorism and restore security and stability to the entire Syrian territory.

He affirmed the impotance of consolidating economic cooperation to confront the coercive economic measures imopsed on the two countries.
