Archbishop Atallah Hanna: Everyone says no to occupation and its practices in al-Quds is threatened with arrest

Al-Quds, (ST)_ Archbishop of Sebastia of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of al-Quds [Jerusalem] Atallah Hanna  has briefed a visiting delegation of Australian parliamentarians about Israel’s dangerous violations and its targeting of Palestinian Christian and Muslim holy sites in the occupied Palestine.

According to a newsletter sent by the Archbishop office to the Syria Times e-newspaper, His Eminence underscored the need to convey the voice of Palestinian people to the whole world as the Palestinian cause is a just cause and the Palestinians have the right to live in peace in their homeland.

“Our Palestinian people have been unjustly treated since Belfour declaration and there have been a lot of Nakbas and setbacks  [Naksa],” the Archbishop said, referring to Israel’s attempts to efface al-Quds and to forge its history as well as to marginalize the Arab Christian and Muslim existence in it.

“Palestinian dignitaries in al-Quds [Jerusalem] are being targeted and they want us to remain silent as we see what is happening against our holy sites and people. We are meant to be idle towards the occupation’s daily arrests and crimes in al-Quds city,” the Archbishop stated, stressing that everyone says no to occupation and its practices in al-Quds is threatened with arrest and pursuit.

His Eminence affirmed Palestinian people’s adherence to their rights and principles despite all occupation’s practices.
