Members of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission held a meeting with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his deputies for talks on the major issues surrounding the foreign policy and economic diplomacy.
The senior lawmakers went to the Foreign Ministry on Sunday for a meeting with Foreign Minister Zarif and members of the Council of Deputies of the ministry.
In the gathering, Zarif and his deputies explicated the latest developments in foreign affairs and the most important regional and international issues.
The chairman and members of the National Security and Foreign Policy commission also expressed their views, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
The latest developments in the foreign relations of Iran, the country’s interaction and cooperation with neighbors, the latest developments in relations with Europe, regional developments, economic diplomacy, parliamentary diplomacy, and the need for internal coordination and cooperation with the foreign ministry were among the topics discussed in the gathering.
In comments last week, Zarif hailed Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s special consideration for the neighboring states in Iran’s foreign policy.
The foreign minister said the Leader’s consideration for the role of neighbors in Iran’s foreign policy has opened a new chapter in studying the issue both in practice and in research.
