UNSC: Escalating violence in Syria Unacceptable

NEWYORK,(ST)_”The escalating violence in Syria is completely unacceptable and must be ended immediately.” The  UN security Council said in a non-binding statement, on Thursday,

Reuters reported that the statement “urged all parties to ensure the safe and unhindered access for aid organizations to those in need in all parts of Syria.”

It  called on countries that promised to donate funding for  Syrian people during the  donor conference  which was held in Kuwait in January to fulfill its promises urgently.

Worthy mentioning that  Dr. Bashar Jaafari Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN  said in Syria ‘s  statement before the UN open meeting entitled “Women, Peace and Security”  that the representative of the UN Secretary-General on sexual violence in conflict situations Zainab Bangura based in the preparation of what is stated in her report of allegations against Syria to the reports of the International Investigation Commission for years 2012-2013 . He stressed that the  Commission  has been not working professionally   since its inception, rather politically  inflamed, adding that the said commission  rejected hundreds of documents and evidence submitted  by Syria on the crimes of armed terrorist groups and used  inaccurate  allegations  as admitted by the commission itself and sources involved in terrorism and in the Syrian bloodshed.
