NEW YORK,(ST)_Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Ja’afari warned on Thursday that there are destructive forces seeking to damage social contract in the region and displace spectra from our societies.
Addressing the UN Security Council, al-Ja’afari said: “Syria will never allow a second Sykes-Picot agreement to pass. We will confront imposing any strange situation on the region.”
He pointed out that Syria had been ranked third as regards safety at world level.
But, al-Ja’afari added, the international and Gulf-backed terrorists groups have worked to destabilize Syria, citing that some states which host displaced citizens (Syrian refugees) prevent them from returning homeland.
“Syrian government insists on implementing the political plan to resolve the crisis in the country through launching national dialogue under Syria’s leadership,” al-Ja’afari said.
“The crisis is political and humanitarian. If we do not deal with its main political dimension, we can not reach a way to offer humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.”
He underscored that the Syrian people will allow no one to impinge on their sovereignty, dignity, political independence and national unity.
