Trump’s Sanction Policy against Iran for Protection of Zionist Entity, Says Malaysian Expert

Kuala Lumpur – The US reinstatement of oil and banking sanctions against Iran are regrettable and definitely Trump’s policy on Iran is due to the American policy of protection of the Zionist regime of Israel, said Ahmad Farouk Musa, founder and director of the Islamic Renaissance Front (IRF) in Malaysia.

‘It was not surprising then that Netanyahu celebrated this sanction by saying “Thank you, President Trump, for this historic move. The sanctions are indeed coming,” that resonated to a similar tweet by Trump earlier on,’ added the Malaysian academic in an interview  with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Kuala Lumpur.

‘Although EU opposed this sanction since Iran has complied to the nuclear proliferation treaty, it seems that Trump was still adamant on this sanction. We would like to ask why the US was so sceptical about Iran uranium enrichment when the only state that possesses nuclear weapons in the Middle East is none other than Israel?’ he said

‘Wasn’t this sanction then for the benefit of the Zionist regime of Israel?’ the Malaysian expert opined.

‘This unilateral act of reimposing sanctions on Iran was an act of punishing the people of Iran. I personally feel that this is against the idea of human rights and human dignity. Countries that are against these unilateral sanctions by the US should have the moral courage to stand up against this injustice. This act by Trump could be interpreted as an act of war against the Islamic Republic of Iran and should be condemned by the peace loving international community,’ said Ahmad Farouk Musa.

On the passive role played by the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) on the issue, the Malaysian expert said, ‘Yes, that’s very unfortunate. The OIC is not playing its role in defending the ummah. It is still at the mercy of the Arab countries which are hostile towards Iran. We have to stand up as an

“ummatanwahidah” – a single ummah – a term used by the Qur’an to describe us. Otherwise we will be at the mercy of the superpowers.’
