Lahhoud Hails Brave Stance of Occupied Syrian Golan’s People in Rejection of Israel’s Oppressive Practices

BEIRUT, (ST)- Former Lebanese President Emil Lahhoud has stressed that the occupied Syrian Golan people’s rejection of the so-called Israeli “local councils elections” is a historical and brave national stance which is part of the steadfastness of the Syrian state and army in the confrontation of the terrorist organizations and the countries which conspired against Syria.

Addressing the people of Golan in a message, Lahhoud said “your rejecting the false elections under occupation expresses the illegitimacy of any institutions built under the occupier and the usurper of the land and stresses that legitimacy can only exist under the umbrella of the free sovereign and independent homeland.”

Forces of the Israeli occupation on Tuesday attacked with live rounds and gas grenades participants in a sit-in held on Tuesday in Majdal Shams town in the occupied Syrian Golan to voice rejection of the so-called  Israeli “local councils elections”. The occupation forces tried to disperse the sit-inners by force, arresting a number of locals and leaving a number of locals injured.
