Syria will Eliminate Conspiracy : Interior Minister

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Minister of the Interior Maj. Gen. Mohammed Ibrahim al-Shaar stressed that  armed terrorist groups acts fall  in the context of a prefabricated  scheme to undermine  Syria’s steadfastness and only protects Israel ‘s  security and US ‘ s interests.

Attending a tactical demonstration  carried out by special task unit on Sunday, the Minister noted the role played by the Syrian army and  the internal security forces in confronting the armed terrorist groups which violate  the security of the homeland and citizens.

He commended the efforts of all members of the special task unit and the  specific exercises they performed during the demonstration, calling for   exploiting these efforts in deterring  mercenaries and  uproot terrorism from the homeland.

On the other hand , the Minister met with several  notables , representing people of Barada valley including persons who  surrendered  themselves and their weapons to the Ministry of Interior and vowed not to return to take up arms again. The Minister stressed  that what is happening in Syria is organized terrorism practiced by armed terrorist groups and is designed to distort the true image of Islam to serve Western interests.

He made it clear  that the solution to the crisis can be only by dropping  arms and resort to dialogue as  the only way to stop the bloodshed of the Syrians.
