Jordanian economic delegation includes 95 businessmen visiting Syria

Damascus- The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Abdullah Al Gharbi discussed here with Jordanian economic delegation headed by Ghassan Khreifan, vice president of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, means of activating the economic cooperation relations and trade exchange between the two countries and the possibility of opening new horizons for cooperation.

The meeting discussed the importance of opening Naseeb crossing to facilitate the movement of the exchange of foodstuffs and industrial products for many Arab countries. It was agreed on the necessity of visiting a Jordanian official economic delegation to Syria which includes various economic and trade activities to discuss means to activate economic relations between the two countries.

 Mr. Al Gharbi stressed Syria’s keenness to activate and promote economic cooperation relations and trade exchange with various friendly countries, pointing out the possibility of cooperation with the Jordanian side in the field of granting protection of commercial and industrial property to Jordanian companies.

He pointed to the presence of about 1600 foreign companies to register their trademarks in Syria, indicating the recovery of economic activity in Syria and the desire of foreign companies to enter Syrian markets.

“We came to Syria, the country of the Arabs and the citadel of steadfastness with a delegation of more than 95 businessmen from the Jordanian businessmen in the fields of trade, industry and various businesses. We affirm that if the Jordanians had the opportunity, there would now be thousands who would like to come to Syria,’ Mr.Khreifan said.

 The head of the Amman Chamber of Industry and member of the Jordanian delegation, Ziad Al-Homsi, stressed that the Damascus International Fair is an economic victory, pointing out the eagerness and enthusiasm of Jordanian businessmen and industrialists to develop cooperation and trade relations with Syria.
