DAMASCUS, (ST)- Under the Patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad, the 60th Damascus International Fair opens on Thursday, September 6th, with the participation of 48 countries as well as many local and foreign companies. The first day is dedicated for the official opening of the fair which will start welcoming its visitors on September 7th.
The fair, which will continue till September 15th, is the biggest economic, social and cultural event in the region.
Several artistic shows, economic lectures and specialized exhibitions, in addition to a number of marketing and promotion activities will be held during the fair’s days.
The 60th Damascus International Fair coincides of with the great achievements made by the Syrian Arab army in the fight against terrorism to restore security to Damascus and other Syrian provinces.
The wide participation reflects the recovery of the Syrian economy and its ability to attract international participants as it used to do before the war on the country.
19 Czech companies to participate in Damascus International Fair
SANA’s correspondent in Prague said that 19 Czech companies have announced their participation in the 60th edition of Damascus International Fair.
It is twice the number of companies that participated in the 2017 edition, the correspondent added, pointing out that that Czech ministries expressed their support for establishing direct contact with Syrian establishments and companies to discuss commercial and investment cooperation.
Large delegation of Palestinian businessmen to participate in DIF
In the same context, Director of the Political Bureau at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Damascus, Ambassador Anwar Abdul-Hadi said that a large delegation of Palestinian businessmen and 23 Palestinian companies will participate in the Fair to showcase Palestinian products.
The Palestinian participation will develop trade exchange between the two countries.
The Ambassador added that a number of meetings between the Syrian and Palestinian businessmen will be held in order to promote trade exchange between the two countries, boost industrial, commercial, IT, and construction cooperation and deepen the relations between the peoples of the two countries.
