Fly Baghdad Company Launches its First Flights to Damascus International Airport

 Damascus-The first Arab private plane belonging to “Fly Baghdad” Company landed Monday evening at the Damascus International Airport coming from Najaf Airport, carrying some 140 passengers.

 Ground Operations Manager at Fly Baghdad Compay, Ghazwan Ramadan, confirmed upon the arrival of the plane to Damascus International Airport that the journey today paves for the return of air traffic to Syria, indicating that work has been started to launch regular flights from Iraq to Syria and vice versa at the rate of 4 weekly flights, from Baghdadto Damascus and from Damascus to Najaf with Boeing “700-737” aircraft, “AG149”.

  For her part, Shefa Nouri, Commercial Director of the Syrian Arab Airlines, affirmed the importance of the journey being the first flight of Iraq’s “Fly Baghdad” to Syria after a long period of time, pointing out that this journey will encourage all companies that left the market because of the crisis to return to operate their flights to Damascus and vice versa.

 For his part, the Director of the company’s office in Damascus, Nawar Khafif, welcomed the return of the Syrian-Iraqi Airways to resume their flights. This return is an important step forward to boost the economy in both countries. He emphasized that the return of the lines to work will have a clear impact in both countries, particularly with the existence of mutual economic and investment interests.

 It is noteworthy that “Fly Baghdad” is an independent Iraqi company established by some Iraqi businessmen and was the first company to use the latest technology in Iraq.
