Defense Minister visits army units in southern region on Eid al-Adha

Sweida – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, commander-in-chief of the army and armed forces, and on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Minister of Defense, major general Ali Abdallah Ayoub paid a field visit to a number of army formations in the southern region.

General Ayoub, also deputy commander-in-Chief of the army, met the soldiers at their sites and congratulated them on the coming of Eid al-Adha, SANA reported. 

He conveyed President al-Assad’s compliments and amity to the soldiers and his wishes of success and victory to them.

 Major General also met commanders of the army formations who briefed him on a detailed explanation about the progress of combatant operations.

He appreciated the accuracy and speed showed by the army forces in implementing the combatant operations and the successes achieved in defeating the terrorist groups and returning security and peace to the southern region.

At the end of the tour, Defense Minister inspected the track of combatant acts carried on by the soldiers in hunting the remnants of Daesh organization in the eastern countryside of Sweida, hailing the soldiers’ high morale and readiness in carrying out their national duties.

General Ayoub also visited the wounded soldiers at the military hospitals, congratulating them on Eid al-Adha and hoping them quick recovery.
