Cuba Calls on Israeli Occupation to Withdraw from Syrian Golan

UNITED NATIONS,(ST)- Cuba has called for full and unconditional withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Syrian Golan.

During an open debate on Wednesday, the Cuban Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ana Silvia Rodriguez condemned the Israeli occupation’s policies in the region and their impacts on the Middle East, warning of the dangerous deterioration of the situation in the region.

The Cuban diplomat affirmed that her country voices its firm solidarity with the Palestinian cause, regretting the disability of the United Nations to condemn the escalating Israeli violence and aggression against Gaza strip.

She expressed Cuba’s rejection to the American government’s decision to withdraw from the Iranian nuclear deal and to renew imposing sanctions on Iran. She warned that this decision may threaten security and stability in the Middle East.
