Terrorists Attack in Sweida Proof of Terrorists’ Fear of Imminent Defeat: Moscow

MOSCOW-Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned the terrorist attacks on the city of Sweida in conjunction with terrorist attacks carried by Daesh on a number of villages in its eastern and northern countryside, SANA reported.

The Ministry said in a statement that such attacks indicate the desperation of terrorists in the face of their imminent defeat.

“We strongly condemn these acts of atrocity. We offer condolences to the families of the dead and wish a speedy recovery to those wounded,” the ministry said, according to SANA.

Dozens of civilians were killed and others were injured on Wednesday morning in terrorist attacks on the city of Sweida synchronizing with terrorist attacks on a number of villages in eastern and northern rural areas.

The Ministry noted that the successes of the Syrian Arab Army, supported by the Russian air force, in defeating the terrorist organizations, especially Daesh (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra, made terrorists feel that their defeat is imminent and prompted them to desperately use mass violence against civilians.
