Army advances in Daraa countryside as terrorists flee

Daraa – A military source announced on Monday the liberation of strategic hill of al-Harra and four villages in the northwestern countryside of Daraa after eliminating terrorists’ gatherings in them.

The source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces, liberated the villages of Kafr Shams, Um al-Awsaj, al-Taiha and Zamrin in Daraa northwestern countryside after eliminating large numbers of terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammunition.

SANA said that the army units carried out during the past hours artillery and rocket strikes against the gatherings of terrorist organizations positioned in the remaining area in the northwestern countryside of Daraa near the administrative border of Quneitra province, to be followed by an army’s advance in the area.

The source pointed out that the army units established control over the strategic hill of al-Harra which is an important point in the southern front, following heavy clashes with Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists as many of them were killed and their munitions were destroyed.

By controlling the strategic hill of al-Harra about 1094 meters above sea level, the army has achieved a significant breakthrough in terms of liberating more villages and towns that the hill overlooks in Daraa and Quneitra countryside.

Earlier, SANA said that the military operation is continued in the direction of the strategic hill of al-Harra after arrival of the army units to its outskirts amid a state of collapse experienced by terrorists’ remnants due to the steady progress of the Syrian army and the losses in the ranks of terrorists.
