President Al-Assad: Eliminating Terrorism in Most Syrian Areas Prepared the Ground for Political Achievements

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad  has stressed that Eliminating terrorism in most Syrian areas has prepared a proper ground for reaching political achievements that contribute to ending the war on Syria.

President Al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with Hussein Jaberi Ansari, Iran’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, and the accompanying delegation.

President Al-Assad and Ansari affirmed that the policies adopted and the pre-conditions put by the countries supporting terrorism are hindering such achievements.

The meeting focused on the strategic relation between Syria and Iran and the achievements realized to the peoples of the two countries and the entire region because of this relation. The two sides agreed on continuously enhancing the strategic ties as they are a key element for stability in the region.

Ansari congratulated the Syrian leadership and people on the recent victories achieved within the framework of defeating terrorism in both the city and the countryside of Daraa, whether through reconciliations or military operations.

These achievements embody the solid will of the Syrian Arab army as well as the allied and supporting forces to liberate the entire Syrian territory from terrorism, President Al-Assad asserted.

As regards the international policy, President Al-Assad and Ansari made it clear that the policy of unilateral decisions recently adopted by some world powers is the most dangerous element of destabilization that threatens international peace and security. They stressed that the more countries reject this policy, the greater the chances of enhancing stability in the world will be.
