Cuba Strongly Supports Enhancing Relations with Syria: Havana

HAVANA, (ST)- Head of International Relations Department at the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party Jose Ramon Balaguer has stressed that his country will support all efforts aiming to enhance relations with Syria.

During his meeting on Sunday with Syria’s Health Minister Nizar yazigi at the Committee’s headquarters, Balaguer expressed confidence that Syria will triumph on terrorism and its supporters and will rebuild what terrorists have destroyed, hailing the steadfastness of the Syrian state in the face of the terrorist war.

 The Cuban official renewed his party’s support for Syria’s war on terrorism, praising the distinguished relations between the Cuban Communist party and the Baath Arab Socialist Party and asserting that these relations will be boosted for the good of the peoples of the two countries.

He reiterated that the strong will of Cuba will break the tight unjust siege which has been imposed on the Cuban people by the United States for more than half a century, expressing confidence that Washington’s schemes are destined to failure.

On his part, minister Yazigi thanked the Cuban leadership and people as well as the Cuban Communist Party over their support for Syria, affirming the two countries’ deep rooted cooperation and friendship.

Last Wednesday, the Cuban and Syrian ministries of health signed in Havana a health cooperation agreement.
