International Community Should Deter Terrorists: Russia

MOSCOW,( ST)_ The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the suicide terrorist bombing that took place on Monday between al-Sabee Bahrat  Square and Shahbandar area in Damascus.

Russia Today online quoted the  spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Ukashevic as  saying  that “Moscow strongly condemns  terrorists new harsh attack whose terrorist activities  kill innocent people. “

“This large  terrorist operation is the second within a month and a half in Damascus in an area where our embassy is located  , a matter  which constitutes a real threat to the lives and security of its employees and we are sure that extremist groups in Syria that resort to terrorist bombings and shelling on residential areas must  be deterred by all members of the international community. ” Lukashevic said.

“We call insistently on all Syrian parties to refrain from violence and sit on the table of negotiations , according to the Working Group Geneva  statement  ,on  June 30, 2012.” Lukashevic added.

The Russian spokesman  expressed deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded , pointing out that there are  no Russian victims or wounded as a result of the terrorist bombing.
