Mikdad: Terrorists, in Cooperation with Israel, Attacked Palestinian Camps in Syria

DAMASCUS- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Pierre Krahenbuhl , the situation of the Palestinian refugees in Syria and the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to provide them with requirements of respectable life, SANA reported.

 In this regard, Krahenbuhl appreciated the services and capabilities offered by the Syrian government to the Palestinian refugees throughout the latest years.

“The difficulties that encounter UNRWA after a number of states stopped financing the Agency will affect the services provided to the Palestinian refugees in the region,” Krahenbuhl added.

UNRWA institutions are looking for alternatives in order to ensure requirements of providing its services to the Palestinians across the world.

For his part, Mikdad held the US and Israel responsible for the suffering of the Palestinian people and depriving them from their basic rights.

Mikdad pointed out that Syria has condemned the US Administration’s suspension of its commitments in UNRWA budget in the interest of Israel.

He went on to say that the terrorist groups, in declared cooperation with Israel, attacked the Palestinian camps in Syria and destroyed their facilities.

“The Syrian State will give a special attention to overcome the repercussions of the crisis in Syria whether in regards to the Syrians or to the Palestinians,” Mikdad affirmed.
