Terrorists’ infiltration bid foiled, weapons seized

PROVINCES,(ST)_Units of armed forces have foiled several terrorists’ attempts to sneak into Syria from Lebanon and to enter a booby-trapped tractor through al-Nabk area in Damascus countryside.

The terrorists tried yesterday night to infiltrate into Syria from Lebanon through al-Mathomeh and Halat sites in Talkalekh suburb in Homs province, but the armed forces and boarder guards confronted them.

Another attempt to enter a booby-trapped tractor through al-Nabk area into the city was reportedly repelled.

A military source told SANA that the tractor was exploded by remote control and the armed forces clashed with the terrorists, who tried to enter the tractor. The terrorists were either killed or injured.

In this context, the Syrian TV channel reported that the armed forces seized two lorries carrying weapons through Jdaidet Yabous crossing point between Lebanon and Syria.   

Meanwhile, fighting raged between armed forces and a terrorist group, which tried to attack “Dedeman” Hotel in Palmyra city in Homs countryside.

Elsewhere, armed forces targeted terrorists’ hideouts in countryside of Damascus, Homs, and Idleb, killing and injuring a lot of terrorists.

Shells landed on main road

In a separate incident, terrorists launched three mortar shells on the main road of al-Wafedin camp in Damascus countryside.

At least 5 citizens were reportedly wounded and several homes and cars were seriously damaged.

Syria is in a state of war and its army is doing its duty as regard defending homeland and citizens, and fighting terrorist groups to restore stability and security to the country.

The terrorist groups, who are exported from 40 countries, perpetrate heinous crimes against citizens and destroy the country’s infrastructure, are funded and supported by Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Britain, France, and the US.
