Belarusian Ambassador: We Are Ready to Support Syria with All Our Experiences

DAMASCUS– Ambassador of Belarus to Syria Alexander Ponomarev stressed his country’s readiness to mobilize its experiences in supporting Syria and activating bilateral cooperation, SANA reported.

In a speech during a reception ceremony held Tuesday by the Belarusian Embassy at tbe Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel marking the 74th anniversary of Belarus Independence, Ponomarev reiterated his country’s support to Syria in its war against international terrorism.

He stressed that what binds the two countries is the desire to progress and to start development without any dictations or foreign pressure, as well as their adherence to a world based on justice, sovereignty of states, and respecting the standards of international rights and the principles of territorial integrity and good neighbors policy.

In a similar speech, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan said that Belarus’ continued support to Syria in different domains proves the deep-rooted relations binding the two countries, which constitutes a solid basis for further enhancing prospects of bilateral cooperation.

Sousan added that Syria welcomes the participation of the Belarusian companies in the reconstruction of what has been destroyed by terrorists in a way that meets the best interests of the two friendly peoples.

He expressed appreciation for the initiative of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on hosting a large number of the martyrs’ sons in Belarus.
