Syrian-Russian Businessmen Council Adopts New Steps to Enhance Cooperation

DAMASCUS – The participants in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Syrian-Russian Businessmen Council stressed the importance of activating the agreements signed between Syria and Russia.

The meeting, which was held at the Dama Rose hotel in Damascus, focused on the Syrian-Russian agreements signed on the sidelines of the 4th Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF 2018) which was held in Yalta city in Crime, according to SANA.

 The participants affirmed the need to overcome the obstacles and provide facilitations for Syrian businessmen, with the Russian side affirming that it will work to reduce customs for Syrian goods and give preferential prices.

They also pointed out that the Republic of Crimea showed great desire to cooperate with Syria and provided facilitations for transport, entry, transit, and shipping of Syrian goods, in addition to agreeing on twinning the cities of Lattakia and Yalta.

Head of the Council, Samir Hasan, said that the two sides agreed on holding the Damascus Forum for Syrian-Russian relations with the participation of about 100 Russian companies on the sidelines of the Damascus International Fair due to be held in September.
