Army foils al-Nusra attack on military posts in Hama countryside, continues to advance in Daraa countryside

Hama – Army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, on Sunday foiled an attack launched by Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist groups on military posts in Hama northern countryside.

SANA said that army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, engaged in violent clashes with terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra organization and the affiliated groups who attacked military posts in the surroundings of Ziblin village in the northern countryside.

SANA added that the clashes ended up by killing a number of terrorists while some of them fled away. Meanwhile, army units carried out intensive strikes against the direction from which the terrorists started their attack, destroying their vehicles, some of which equipped with heavy machineguns.

 Daraa

Army units continued military operations against terrorists’ dens in Daraa eastern countryside amid a state of confusion among and fleeing their ranks.

SANA said that army units carried out concentrated strikes against gatherings and dens of Jabhat al-Nusra-affiliated terrorist groups in the area of al-Lajat and the villages of the eastern countryside, killing scores of terrorists.

SANA added that a number of machinegun-equipped vehicles and rocket shells launching pads were destroyed in the army’s operations.
