DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Hundreds of families returned to their homes in Harran al-Awamid town in Damascus Countryside after five years of displacement because of the terrorist organizations attacks against the town and after the Syrian Arab army has liberated it from terrorists and restored security and stability there.
The locals, who expressed their happiness for returning home, stressed their support for the Syrian army and vowed to work hard as to protect their country and rebuild what terrorism has destroyed.
Head of Harran al-Awamid municipality Ammar Askar said that some 500 families, which were forced to leave their houses in the town five years ago fleeing the atrocities of the terrorist groups, have returned, clarifying that the municipality is working to ensure necessary equipments and is sparing no effort in coordination with the governorate of Damascus Countryside as to rehabilitate the infrastructure, including schools, clinics and government institutions, and to fix the electricity and water networks.
The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, last April, announced the liberation of the entire Eastern Ghouta towns and villages from terrorist groups after all terrorists were evacuated from Douma city, their last stronghold in Eastern Ghouta.
