BAGHDAD, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem sent a message to his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari dealing with intensifying the two countries’ efforts as to reopen the border crossing between Syria and Iraq which is located between Iraq’s al-Qaem city and the Syrian city of al-Boukmal.
The message was conveyed to al-Jaafari by Syria’s Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jad’an al-Dandah.
According to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry website, Al-Jaafari stressed the need to coordinate stances and cooperate to solve Arab problems by adopting political solutions and the principle of not interfering in countries’ affairs.
On his part, al-Dandah hailed Iraq’s support for peaceful solution of the crisis in Syria, expressing the Syrian government’s willingness to enhance Syria-Iraq cooperation to achieve the hoped-for stability.
