Authorities continue settling legal status of gunmen in Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahem, southern Damascus

Damascus Countryside – The legal status of scores of gunmen in the towns of Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahem in southern Damascus was settled ahead of reintegrating them in their communities.

SANA said that committees from the component authorities on Sunday settled the legal status of scores of the gunmen in Yalda town after they turned themselves in to the authorities, handing over their weapons and pledging not to carry out any act that could harm security in the country.

 The officer supervising the settlement process told SANA that settling the legal status of the gunmen who wanted to stay in their homes in Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahem is continuing as most of the gunmen had their legal status settled in Beit Sahem and Babila while the status of gunmen in Yalda town is being currently settled.

He pointed out that those who had their legal status settled handed over automatic rifles, RPG launchers, sniper rifles and various munitions to the authorities.
