Syria’s Victory over Terrorism Foiled the Zionist-American Conspiracy: Egyptian Intellectuals

CAIRO, (ST)- Some Egyptian intellectuals and journalists have renewed their solidarity with Syria in its war on terrorism, stressing that Syria’s victory over terrorism forces has foiled the Zionist-American conspiracy.

During a gathering held Wednesday evening in Cairo by the Egyptian Popular Committee for Defending Syria, Journalist Yousri al-Sayyed stressed Egypt’s support for Syria in the fight against terrorism, noting the unity of blood and destiny between the two countries.

Chief Editor of the “Al Gomhuria” newspaper Maher Abbas, on his part, said “every time we hear good news from Damascus the streets of Cairo become full of joy.

 Nationalist Intellectual Farouq al-Eshri hailed the unity of destiny linking between Syria and Egypt, affirming that the two countries have had the same enemy throughout history and this enemy has been trying to implement a Zionist-American conspiracy in the region.

Jamal Zahran, the General Coordinator of the Arab and Islamic Gathering for Supporting Resistance in Egypt, pointed out that the Syrian steadfastness is the hope of the nation to confront the schemes aiming at dividing the region.

Mohammad Sayyed Ahmad, Professor of Political Sociology and the General Coordinator of the Egyptian Popular Committee for Defending Syria, said, on his part, that resistance is always the solution and the way to confront the conspiracies being hatched against Syria and the Arab nation. He pointed out that Syria will continue to be the forefront of resistance.
