Army units make big advance in al-Hajar al-Aswad south of Damascus

Damascus Countryside – Syrian Arab Army made on Tuesday a significant advance against the terrorist organizations in al-Hajar al-Aswad District of southern Damascus, expanding its military engagement on the southwestern direction after destroying several terrorist fortified positions.

SANA reported that Units of the Syrian Arab Army continued their military operations in al-Hajar al-Aswad District, and achieved a new advance on the southwestern direction.

Farms located in the west of al-Hajar al-Aswad were cleared of terrorists and the army established control on the al-A’laf area and a number of complex buildings in the southwestern direction, according to SANA.

Fierce clashes continued on the northern direction under the army’s overwhelming firepower on al-Basil garden amid a retreat of terrorists.

SANA said that the storming units waged severe clashes against the terrorist groups in which they used various types of weapons, including sniper machine guns, mortar shells, heavy machine guns and others to hinder in vain the Army’s progress.

Heavy artillery and airstrikes targeted the terrorists’ positions, their dens and trenches used to transfer their logistic supplies, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists in personnel and arms, and cutting off their supply routes.
