US-Led Aggression on Syria Will Never Undermine Syrians’ Determination to Combat Terrorism

DAMASCUS- Speaker of People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh affirmed that the tripartite aggression on Syria will never undermine Syrian people’s determination to combat terrorism.

Speaker Sabbagh’s remarks came during a meeting with an independent British delegation, headed by Member of the British House of Lords, Baroness Cox, SANA reported.

Sabbagh said that the governments of the countries that launched the aggression against Syria, especially the US, continue to violate international law, contrary to the international legitimacy and the UN and its Charter which safeguards the sovereignty and independence of states.

In turn, Baroness Cox said that she has demanded answers by the British government before the House of Lords and the House of Commons about facts she had witnessed firsthand in previous visits to Syria, including how much is paid by the British government of British taxpayers’ money to the “jihadi” terrorist groups it calls “opposition” in Syria.

She added that these information and facts were concealed from the press and the British public opinion, noting that she had already asked the British government to inform the House of Lords of the names of groups supporting them with money.
