President Assad Warned against Sinister Bids and Schemes
DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad underscored that the main weapon used by the enemies is to drive a wedge and increase extremism, intellectual and religious cracks among the sons of the one society.
Receiving the participants in the Damascus-held Conference on the Unity of the Nation, President Assad added that the unity of Moslems based on diversity and commitment to the essence of religion is the guarantee as to protect our societies against Western schemes as to weaken and dismember us.
H.E. warned against the bids as to separate our national Identity from the religious one and as to blind and blur the reality that our roots are but one.
The participants asserted that the convening of the Conference in Damascus is to reiterate the stand of the men of religion and Islamic People by Syria, particularly when the Syrians are bravely encountering the Western and American threats.
