Al-Jaafari Accuses Washington, Paris, London, Ankara, Riyadh, Doha of Supplying Terrorists with Toxic Chemical Materials

NEW YORK, (ST)- Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Al-Jaafari accused the United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey of supplying “Daesh”, “Jabhat al-Nusra”, “Jaish al-Islam”, “Failaq al-Rahman” and tens of other affiliated terrorist groups with toxic chemical materials as to be used in attacks against Syrian civilians. He also accused them of committing chemical crimes and fabricating evidence to blame the Syrian government for the use of chemical weapons in order to prepare circumstances for an aggression against Syria similar to the US and British aggression on Iraq in 2003.

He made the remarks during a Security Council meeting on Monday on the situation in Syria, in the wake of fabricated reports about an alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma.

Al-Jaafari, who stressed that the alleged Douma chemical attack was staged and evidence was fabricated to accuse the Syrian government,  said “Syria affirms that it absolutely doesn’t possess any chemical weapon of any kind and condemns the use of chemical weapons in any place or at any time under any circumstances.”  He added that Syria also reiterates its limitless cooperation with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapon (OPCW)  as to implement is commitments towards the chemical Weapons convention (CWC).

He affirmed Syria readiness to facilitate the entry of the OPCW  fact-finding mission to Douma as soon as possible to verify allegations on the attack.

Al-Jaafari noted that Syria has submitted 145 letters containing the information that terrorist groups have toxic chemical substances, particularly chlorine and sarin, which would be used by them to prepare for crimes. He said that the terrorists were working with White Helmets to fabricate the evidence and to create staged dramatic scenes to influence public opinion against the government of Syria.

Al-Jaafari criticized the US Permanent Representative Nikkie Haley’ s statement in which she renewed US threats of using force against Syria, stressing that the US behavior disregards the Security Council and principles of International Law.

The Syrian diplomat went on to say that the United States, France and Britain, through their repeated calls for holding Security Council session based on fabricated information, seek getting the rest of the Security council members involved in their conspiracy and lying campaign. He pointed out that these calls aimed at supporting terrorists and hindering the agreement reached in the Syrian city of Douma.

Al-Jaafari  said that Syria and Iraq have eliminated almost all “Daesh” terror organization within three years, not as planned by the US, France and Britain which wanted Daesh to continue for thirty years. He added that Syria has also cut off the terrorist arm of Saudi Arabia in eastern Ghouta, namely “Jaish al-Islam gang, and eliminated Jabhat al-Nusra and Failaq al-Rahman gangs,  the terrorist arm of Qatar and Turkey in Ghouta.

Israeli repeated missile attacks on Syria

Syria’s permanent representativecondemned the repeated Israeli missile attacks on the Syrian territories, the latest of which was on the T-4 airbase in Homs, stressing that the Israeli acts of aggression would not succeed in protecting Israeli-backed terrorist groups.

He described the aggression  as a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council Resolution No. 350 of 1974 and relevant UN Security Council resolutions on combating terrorism.

It is an indirect response to the success of the Syrian Arab Army in expelling the terrorist groups from the neighborhoods of Damascus City, its countryside and other Syrian areas, al-Jaafari clarified.

He affirmed that the repeated Israeli acts of aggression won’t prevent the Syrian Arab Army from pressing ahead with fighting terrorism till the entire Syrian territory is cleaned from takfiri terrorists.
