Iran Turns all Challenges into Opportunities, Says IRGC Commander

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Tuesday that Iran successfully turned all challenges and threats posed against the country into opportunities.

This year all witnessed annihilation of Daesh and other Takfiri groups who were against Islam in Iraq and Syria, he said.

This year the Resistance was quite successful in the region, he said and referred to shooting down of F-16 warplane of the Zionist regime.

Role of people in suppressing recent unrest in the country was of prime importance, Jafari said.

 People in Iraq and Syria turned all threats posed by the enemies into opportunities, he underlined.

Iran underlines boosting its defense power

On the other hand, Iran’s defense minister on Tuesday stressed improvement of its defense power.

‘We are doing the best to reinforce the defensive and deterrence power of the Islamic Republic of Iran,‘ Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said in a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Islamic Republic of Iran Susanna Terstal.

Commenting on the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, he urged the UN Security Council to prevent murder of innocent Yemeni civilians by Saudi Arabia.

He descrbied the current unrests in the region a result of forirign interference, noting that the US claim about Iran’s arm support for Sana’a aims to deviate the public opinion.

The Dutch envoy, for his part, said that the Netherlands is interested in the elevation of defense relations with Islamic Republic.

She noted that the Netherlands attaches importance to world security and stability.
